WWE Cruiserweight Classic Wrestler Profiles: Noam Dar

By Christopher Evans (@Cool_Calm_Chris)

On July 13, 2016, WWE will begin their first-ever Cruiserweight Classic (formerly the Global Cruiserweight Series) on the WWE Network. This event will feature wrestlers that have made a name for themselves throughout the indie scene. A few names in the tournament might be familiar, such as Kota Ibushi or Zack Sabre Jr., while others might be a fresh new face for most fans. For those who are unfamiliar with the wrestlers in the tournament, but want to know more, you are in the right place. For this article we will be discussing one of the more familiar names for British fans, Noam Dar.

The Israeli-Scottish born Noam Dar is one of the younger names in the tournament at the age of 22. Having started wrestling in 2008, Dar began his career really early at the age of 15. Since his debut, Dar has been a staple in the British Independent Circuit working with promotions such as PROGRESS Wrestling, Insane Championship Wrestling, and even Dragon Gate UK.

Early on in his career, Dar began to have more high profile matches against guys such as the legendary former ECW wrestler Jerry Lynn, former NXT Champion Finn Balor (when Balor performed as Prince Devitt), one half of the American Wolves Eddie Edwards, and even AJ Styles. Dar has accumulated a number of titles during his eight year career, such as the Preston City Wrestling Cruiserweight Championship, the ICW Zero-G Championship, the One Pro Wrestling Openweight Championship, and even won PROGRESS Wrestling’s World Cup tournament in 2014.
When you watch a Noam Dar match, a few things will stick out to you from first look. He makes for a great babyface, being able to play off the crowd and make his opponent look like a star. Dar is quite possibly one of the best catch as catch can wrestlers in this tournament, if you find yourself watching one of his matches you probably would not be disappointed.  The wrestlers in this Global Cruiserweight Series are some of the best wrestlers in the world today, and Noam Dar is definitely one to check out. The tournament is over two months away, so there is plenty of time to check out all of the wrestlers participating in this tournament.
